Hindu Baudha Samiti is all set to organise a daylong "Antarashtriya Hindu Baudha Darshan Sammelan, 2018" at Jorethang on 23 December. The Samiti, which was formed on 09 September 2018, has been formed expressly for the purpose of organizing the Sammelan.
Addressing a press conference here today, the president of the Samiti, Rohit Raj, informed that the main purpose of the Sammelan was to interest the younger generation of Sikkim towards preserving culture, heritage and traditions in the name of dharma.
“We also want to convey the message to the students and people at large that they shouldn't be distracted by unhealthy, intoxicating things which can only harm/ ruin their lices. We want to deliver relief through this Sammelan,” he adds.
The Samiti general secretary, HB Gurung, expressed hope that the program will have a positive impact and receive good response from the people.
The Samiti has invited all to be part of the Sammelan and highlighted that this was a multi-faith event to which people can carry their own religious flags.
Chaitayan Krishna Ji Maharaj from Nepal, Chidananda Muni Shri Maharaj from Rishikesh, Gyaltshab Rinpoche from Ralang, Sonam Gurmey Lama Rinpoche from Nepal and patron of Hindu Baudha Sangam, Indresh Kumar, are scheduled to speak at the event.
