Gangtok, 20 Dec:
Round Table India, through its Gangtok Chapter, “Gangtok Round Table, 301,” inaugurated a Computer Lab at Government Junior High School, Lumsey, Gangtok, East Sikkim on 18 Dec. Round Table India has renovated the room, provided furniture for the computer lab along with seven HP computers systems with UPS to the school.
The inauguration was done in presence of national president, Round Table India LMF, Dhruv Dalmai, area chairman, Area XIV LMF, Dhiraj Golyan, chairman, Gangtok Round Table 301, Pravin Agarwal, other executive members of Gangtok Round Table and School Headmaster, Staff and its Students.
The headmaster informed that the school was in need of a Computer Lab and thanked members of Round Table India for the gesture and support.
Mr. Dalmia introduced Round Table India as an association of young and dynamic members below the age of 40.
Mr Golyan, in turn, informed about activities undertaken by Round Table India, especially through its programme “Freedom Through Education” under which it has built over 6,800 classrooms in India over a period of 20 years.
Gangtok Table chairperson, Mr. Agarwal detailed the activities undertaken by the Gangtok Round Table so far in the State which includes construction of an auditorium/ multipurpose hall at Mamring JHS in association with V -Guard Ltd, and organising various awareness camps on Girl Child Abuse Prevention Day at PNGS, World No Tobacco Day at West Point School, Blood Donation and Go Green Project at ICFAI University Sikkim.
In addition, they have also been visiting old age homes and orphanages in and around Gangtok.
