The finale of the West Pendam Dancing Star competition is to be held at the community hall of Singleybong, West Pendam on 06 Jan 2019. Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling, is scheduled to attend the finale as chief guest according to the organizers of the competition, Shanti Yuva Samitee of Singleybong Youth, West Pendam.
Selections were held on 28 Oct 2018 and 31 Oct 2018 at the community hall of Singleybong, West Pendam. The audition for the quarter and semi-finals were held on11 Nov and 09 Dec, at the same venue, out of which only 7 could make to the grand finale but unfortunately only 6 will be competing because one of the participants got injured, informed general secretary of Shanti Yuva Samitee, Ashok Tamang while speaking to SummitTimes. He thanked everyone who has supported the event.
Mingma D Lepcha, Dinesh Sunar and Chandrima Chatterjee are the judges for the finale.
Cash prize and trophy will be granted to the winner along with certificates to all the participants. The winner will get to perform in Sikkim Dance Icon, another event which is to be held in Gangtok, organised by CID, a dance institute in Ranipool, it is informed.
More than 60 participants enrolled for the competition which is in open category irrespective of age or gender, informed Mr Tamang.
