Sikkim's Nikita Cintury has released her first single, “Mounta,” on YouTube and is already creating waves on various digital platforms since the night it was released.
Nikita, who has been seen at various events in Sikkim has the knack to connect with audience with her mesmerising and soulful performances. She has been seen mostly performing Nepali covers and Bollywood numbers, but now she finally owns her own original song, that too written, composed and arranged by the celebrated Sudarsan Tamang.
‘Mounta’ seeks to inspire people to follow and re-energise and revive their passions.
“It speaks about the dormant phase which an individual goes at least once in a life and people’s attitude towards it. The song motivates one to compassionately believe and work hard towards one’s passion and turn victorious,” explains Mr Tamang.
Nikita has been singing since she was 10 and apart from being a passionate singer, she is also working as a teacher in a government school. Hailing from Temi Tarku, South Sikkim, she was also one of the contestants of ‘The Voice India 2016’.
She was conferred with BR Ambedkar award in 2014.
Speaking on ‘Mounta,’ Nikita said, “I have finally found my strength. I have my original song now which I always wanted to have. I am thankful to Sudarsan Tamang for the opportunity and helping my vocal abilities diversify. I have tried to sing this song in a different style and I hope the listeners like it”.
The music video of ‘Mounta’ features Everester Trishala Gurung, Wang Lama, Meena Gautam, Manilata Sharma, and Aitaman Subba. Cinematography is done by Pallawib Rai; sound, record and mixed by Sudhir Singh and concept, editing and direction is done by Sudarsan Tamang.
The musicians on the song are Raja Lama, Subham Peter Gajmer and Sudarsan Tamang on acoustic guitars; Raja Lama on bass and keyboard by Atish Tamang.
