Textbooks from Classes I to V to have QR Codes


GANGTOK, 21 DEC:

From the next academic year, school textbooks from Classes I to V of HRDD, will be energised by placing QR code (Quality Response) in each chapter of English, Mathematics and EVS textbooks.

With regard to this, a 4-day workshop on content-pooling and content-creation was held at SCERT from 18 to 21 Dec 2018 where they were familiarizes with digital content in form of Video, PDF, Assessment to supplement the existing textbooks and have the digital content at the backend of the DIKSHA portal.

Teachers from all four districts along with faculty from SCERT were present for the workshop which had Shreya Agarwal from DIKSHA-PMU, New Delhi, as resource person. The program was coordinated by Lecturer Rajiv Philip, SCERT, HRDD, Govt. of Sikkim.

DIKSHA-Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing, was dedicated to the nation by the Vice-President on the Teachers’ Day 2017 to give a platform to teachers to showcase their teaching learning material digitally to all.

With regard to this, SCERT was nominated the nodal agency for DIKSHA in Sikkim with SCERT Director, Dr. Rabin K Chhetri as the nodal officer for implementation.

ommittee headed by Additional Chief Secretary, GP Upadhaya, HRDD, was formed with Directors from various sections of HRDD and other officers of the Department as members.
