Gangtok, 04 Jan:
The Sikkim unit of Bharatiya Janata Party convened a meeting at the party office here at Singtam on Friday to discuss various issues related to the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The meeting had the presence of the newly-appointed Lok Sabha and Assembly election in-charge for Sikkim, Nitin Navin, who is also a member of Bihar Assembly, and was also attended by BJP-Sikkim president, DB Chauhan, and other senior leaders and workers of the party.
A BJP press release informs that the meeting deliberated upon the various works and initiatives of the Narendra Modi government and asserted that the Modi wave cannot be stopped even in Sikkim in the upcoming elections.
The release mentions that the party’s election in-charge for Sikkim stressed the need to expand the party organisation in Sikkim and urged party workers to work tirelessly and sincerely. He mentioned that the upcoming election in Sikkim will be contested under the leadership of the BJP-Sikkim president DB Chauhan.
The release further informs that a delegation of the State unit led by Mr Chauhan will proceed to New Delhi to participate in the national level meeting of the BJP on 11 and 12 January and talk with the central leadership about the upcoming elections.
