GANGTOK, 04 JAN:
Sikkim Democratic Front general secretary of Namthang bazaar, SB Tamang, today joined Hamro Sikkim Party [HSP] along with several of his supporters at the HSP office here at Gangtok.
It is informed that SB Tamang was a government employee earlier and had also contested the 2009 Assembly election as a Congress candidate from Namthang Rateypani constituency.
Vice president HSP, Bhaichung Bhutia, along with spokesperson, Biraj Adhikari and other party portfolio holders welcomed SB Tamang and his supporters in a grand manner by presenting all the newly joined members with party symbol and khadas.
Mr Tamang stated that the state is in pathetic condition on all fronts whether political, social or economic. He said that the state has no future and the major concern is for the future generation.
HSP has a great vision and principles which we need to support for the development of the state and to create opportunity for the youth of the state, he said.
Vice president, Bhaichung Bhutia after welcoming Mr Tamang and his supporters stated that Mr Tamang is a person with a clean image and has been working for the welfare of the youth and the people of Namthang Rateypani.
‘It is a proud moment for HSP to have such a clean person join the party. We are sure in days to come more will join us,” he said.
Mr Tamang has also been given the post of vice president. There are nine vice presidents in HSP and the president will be declared by mid Jan 2019, it was informed.
