Law College students take academic excursion to New Delhi


GANGTOK, 11 JAN:

The final year students of Government Law College (Sikkim) along with two teacher escorts Dr. TshewangDorjee Lama (Vice Principal) and Dr. DilipPandey (Dean, Student Affairs) had been to Delhi for an academic excursion which began from 24 Dec, 2018 to 04 Jan, 2019.

As part of their ten-day academic excursion they visited Parliament House and fortunately got an opportunity to witness a Parliament Session wherein a historic Triple Talaq Bill was passed. Apart from this they visited many historical places and academic institutions located in Delhi including Red Fort, QutubMinar, Akhshardham Temple, Nehru Memorial, Indira Memorial, India Gate, etc.

On 02Jan, 2019 they also visited the Supreme Court of India wherein they got an opportunity to enter the Supreme Court Museum, Judges Library and many areas within the Supreme Court. They also got a chance to meet some renowned Supreme Court Lawyers and had a good interaction with them.

President, SRC, PradeepTamang and vice-president SRC, TsheringLaki,on behalf of all the final year students of Government Law College, Sikkim have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Member of Parliament, RajyaSabha,HissayLachungpa for giving them this opportunity to observe the Parliament Session and for the hospitality offered.

They have also thanked Minister, RB Subba for his help and support for this excursion. They also want to express their gratitude to Principal,Dr. GaneshjiTiwari, Government Law College, Sikkim and Officials of Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim for the excursion.
