CM chairs opening ceremony of NE Youth Festival at Dentam


Stay updated to reap benefits, CM tells youth Dentam, 21 Jan (IPR): Chief Minister Pawan Chamling chaired the opening ceremony of the North East Youth Festival 2019 organized by the Sports Youth Development Board, Government of Sikkim at Dentam as the chief guest today. The CM was accompanied by UD&HD Minister, NK Subba; HRDD Minister, RB Subba; Roads and Bridges Minister, GM Gurung; RMDD Minister, SB Subedi; Health Minister, AK Ghatani; MLAs, Chairpersons, HODs and other guest and dignitaries. In his address to the gathering at Dentam, the CM spoke exclusively to the youth present in the North East Youth Festival. He urged the youth to be updated with current technology in order to reap the full benefits of opportunities available to them in today’s times. He advised the youth to interact with each other during the festival which could be useful for all participants to understand each other’s culture and ways of life. He mentioned that the festival is a chance for the North Eastern States to mingle with each other which would be beneficial to all. The CM mentioned that the youth have it in them to shape the future of their state. He advised the youth to never lose hope and work hard. He added that the State has done everything in its power to help the youth in every way possible by introducing various governmental schemes and policies which benefit the youth of Sikkim. Lastly, he extended his best wishes to all the participants of the North East Youth Festival. During the event, the Chief Minister also released the 'Sikkim State Youth Policy Book' and 'Tales of Transformation: A Compilation of Articles by HCMMSS Recipients' during the inaugural ceremony of the North East Youth Festival 2019. Participating states for the Youth Festival are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
