A ward-level meeting of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha was held Ralak ward under Tingchem GPU of Dzongu constituency today.
The meeting had SKM working president, MP Subba, as chief guest accompanied by vice president, Birendra Tamling, and other senior leaders and SKM party workers.
An SKM press release informs that the chief guest urged the people to stay aware and not imperil the future of the State for small government benefits.
He stated that SKM has the vision to provide prosperity and happiness to the people.
On the same, he urged the people to support the vision of the party.
Mr Subba alleged that the ruling party has been trying to stop the people from attending opposition meetings with the lure of government benefits and other programmes.
He also alleged that the government has been trying to misguide and deceive youth with false assurances. He also lambasted the CM for his statement that SIBLAC, Bhaichung Bhutia and SKM have been obstructing the delivery of Limboo and Tamang seats.
SKM vice president, Mr Tamling, in turn alleged that the youth have not been receiving the chance to ise the SDF and added that SKM will give them full opportunity.
He also stated that SKM president PS Tamang [Golay] can contest the upcoming elections.
SKM North District panchayat cell general secretary, Thinlay Uzer Bhutia, further alleged favouritism by the State government in the distribution of the government benefits and schemes.
Likewise, Chung Kipu Lepcha stressed that the people should come forward openly for their rights. She further alleged failure of the government in different sectors through the past 25 years. Chewang Norbu Lepcha also addressed the meeting and accused the ruling party of indulging in communal politics to divide the people to come into the power.
