Rhenock, 25 Feb:
Student's Representative Council, Government College, Rhenock has opposed the bandh called by Sikkim KrantikariMorcha.
President, SRC (Rhenock),Mon Maya Limboo stated that while there may be a reason for the bandh, it will be the public who will suffer because of the bandh.
Adding further she said that students may also suffer from such a bandh particularly class 10and 12 students appearing for board exams.Those who live on daily wages will also be affected, she said.
Citing the example of neighbouringWest Bengal she stated that such bandhs have resulted in great loss including taking the lives of many innocent people which she stated must never happen in Sikkim.She said that the entire SRC, Rhenock now stands united in it resolve to make the campus best in the state.
It was informed that from installing sanitary napkin vending machine for girls, providing a bus for students, a library with books of all disciplines and Wi-Fi most of the demands have been fulfilled with the cooperation of HRDD and Principal.
A proper academic building and construction of the entrance gate are the important demands still under process which requires speedy action, she informed.
