DSA to appoint new president post elections
GANGTOK, 06 MAR:
The Central Executive Committee meeting of Denzong Sherpa Association (DSA) was held at Gangtok today under the chairmanship of advisor, Mingma Sherpa. The meeting accepted the resignation of incumbent president, LhaTshering Sherpa, a press release informs.
The meeting also acknowledged the immense contribution made by outgoing President to the upliftment of Sherpa Community in Sikkim. The relentless work of LhaTshering Sherpa towards the social and political evolution will always be remembered and cherished.
The Sherpa Community of Sikkim will always remain indebted and looks forward to his guidance and support in days to come and wishes him good health, success and happiness in his future endeavors, the release mentions.
To provide and facilitate a smooth functioning of Denzong Sherpa Association, the executive committee unanimously decided to appoint PemaWangchuk Sherpa of Uttarey, West Sikkim as acting president till the new executive committee is formed through democratic process. It is further decided that the election for the formation of New Executive will be held post the General Election 2019.
