TES builds house for underprivileged family


Gangtok,14 Mar:

Tara Educational Society (TES),a Non-Governmental-Organization based in Gangtok, has come up with a new initiative to help the underprivileged by donating land and constructing houses for them.

The Society had donated a piece of land to one Nar BahadurDarjee two months back and to start the construction work, a small programme was organized on Wednesday. MrDarjee is a resident of Lower Chisopani under Singtam-Khamdong Constituency in East Sikkim. He belongs to an underprivileged family and was in need of a house.

A team of TES headed by its president,UdayGurung met MrDarjee and his family to complete the formalities and officially start the construction work of the house.

During the meeting, local residents, family members of the beneficiary and members of the society were also present. It may be mentioned here that the TES is involved in various social work and has helped in the construction of religious institutions not only in Sikkim but also in Darjeeling and some other places. The society has been involved in providing essential items like books, stationery, etcto underprivileged students, financial support to old age homes, to mention a few.

TES president,UdayGurunghanded over documents related to the land to the family of Nar BahadurDarjee. He assured that the construction work of the house will start soon. He also highlighted various work done by the society in the past.He appealed to everyone and the local society to come forward to help people in need. He also congratulated the family of MrDarjee.

Nar BahadurDarjee thanked the members of TES for coming up with such a noble idea and helping people in need.

“It will be a huge blessingbestowed on me by the society and will always be grateful to them,” said MrDarjee.

Rabin Rai, a resident of Lower Chisopani, has appreciated the step taken by the society and has thanked the society on behalf of the whole village. This kind of support will surely benefit and help BPL and underprivileged families of the locality, he added.

He further said that the village is hopeful that the society will continue to support the village in days to come. The village also is hopeful that society will focus more on BPL families, education, health, and help the people of Chisopani village in future.
