Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim, under SamagraShiksha, organised a weeklong “Students Exchange Programme” in Manipur starting from 02 Feb 2019, for secondary level girl students.
This is one of the various flagship programmes of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India which is being implemented in States to build confidence and facilitate learning experiences in the field of academics, culture and tradition of different schools within and outside the states for the students.
Fifty girl students of Namchi Senior Secondary School, South District and Kasturba GhandhiBalikaVidyalaya, West Sikkim were warmly hosted in the Residential School, Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal, at Manipur.
The students were taken to various educational and tourist sites like KeibulLamjao National Park, Imphal Planetarium, Loktak Lake, India Peace Memorial, Maibam-LotpaChing, Manipur and Airview stadium. The students enjoyed an exchange of cultural performance of Manipuri dances with their Folk and Maruni dance and the programme also incorporated interactive session among the students of both the states.
The teams were led by teachers Nanda Kumar Chettri, SiksitaDevan, SunitaPradhan and Prerna Lepcha from KGBV SS, West and Namchi SSS, South District.
