The run is being supported by the Press Club of Sikkim, Sikkim Limboo Youth Association and a group of students from Burtuk Degree College.

Bandana Limboo hails from Chisopani in South Sikkim and is a student of Nar Bahadur Bhandari Degree College, Tadong. She is currently undergoing treatment for Leukemia [Blood Cancer] at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Amar Subba has raised funds for different social organisations and ailing persons through such charity runs in the past as well.

While announcing his charity run at a press conference here today, Mr Subba appealed to organisations and individuals to come forward and support the charity run through contributions to support the expensive treatment Ms Limboo is undergoing.

He informs that the entire fund raised in the run will be handed over to her family to assist the treatment.

“I am just a runner, but people have to come forward to support the cause and save the life of a Sikkimese daughter,” he appealed.

Mr Subba will be joined by some of his students on the run and has appealed to members of different organisations and individuals to be part of this cause by running section of the run with him.

Sikkim Limboo Youth Association advisor, GS Subba, mentioned that many have been coming forward to support the treatment of Bandana Limboo and around Rs 5 lakh has already been raised.
