Governor visits Regional Ayurveda Research Institute

Governor Ganga Prasad visited the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute here at Tadong today.
He was accorded a warm reception by a team of doctors and researchers headed by Assistant Director and Centre In-charge, Dr Shriprakash, a press release informs.
The Governor sought information on the facilities and technical aspects of the institute and interacted with the research officers and staff.
In a brief function, a formal presentation was made on various therapeutic process of Ayurveda including ‘Panchakarma Chikitsha’ and ‘Swasthya Vritt’ by Dr Rahul and Dr Shravan Kumar Shahu respectively.
In his address, the Governor stressed on the need to promote Ayurveda to maintain healthy lifestyles.
“Ayurveda, being the ancient health and medical practice with deep scientific base, was developed over centuries of research and experiments in India and it must be brought forth for the balanced and rational treatment of ailments,” the Governor said.
He also appealed to all to adopt Ayurveda.
The Governor, while appreciating the research activities being carried out by the centre, also urged the institute to take up a greater role in community health and reaching out to the masses with its services.
