Nathula trade resumes

Gangtok, 02 May (IPR): The 14th episode of Indo-China Border Trade resumed trade and opened on Wednesday. The event included welcoming of officials and traders of both sides at the Gate.

A team of officials headed by Principal Secretary, Dr Thomas Chandy including senior officers of Commerce and Industries Department and other State Departments as well as Central agencies were present on the occasion.

The trade takes place from 01 May to 30 November, 2019 each year and is operational for four days a week i.e. from Monday to Thursday.

Last year the value of trade for exports was Rs 45.03 crore and for import, Rs 3.23 crore.

Major items of export are; Wheat Flour, Dalda, Biscuit, Utensils and Copper Items. The major items imported are; Readymade Garments, Carpet, Blanket, Shoes and China Clay.
