Gangtok, 09 Jun:
Girish ‘n The Chornicles, the rock band fronted by Gangtok’s Girish Pradhan, has stayed true to its hard rock credentials for nearly two decades now. And their perseverance continues to impress. The band has developed a faithful fan-base and continues to create waves and make headlines.
In the latest instance, the band has signed up with a Denmark-based record label, Lion’s Pride, and while the negotiations and contract signing stretched out for months and deadlines kept getting finished, in the band’s own words, “All’s well that ends well.”
Their album with Lion’s Pride is slated for an April 2020 release.
As the band informs, it all started on 31 December, 2018 when GATC released its music video for, "Rock the Highway" on YouTube.
The song caught on and was made available on all online stores and platforms such as Spotify, YouTube music, iTunes, Apple Music, Napster, Pandora etc. They were featured on Sleaze Roxx Magazine and Classic Rock Magazine included the song in their "Songs of The Week" section.
Soon after, Lion’s Pride got in touch with the band and expressed interest to produce an album with GATC. That album will now release in April next year.
Meanwhile, their music also toched Cary Hubbs, a filmmaker based out of the Czech Republic, who has since come over to Bengaluru where the band is based and shot a music video for one of the songs to be included in the upcoming album.
As they say, Rock On!
