Gangtok, 09 Jun:

Long distance runner Shiva Hang Limboo is leaving on Monday to participate in a 12-Hour Stadium Run at Mumbai University ground. The run, which is scheduled to be held from 5 AM to 5 PM on 15 June, is being organised by Bengaluru-based NEB Sports.

Shiva Hang is a student of the Amar “Marathon Man” Subba and is participating in this ultra marathon for the third time. On his debut appearance, he had stood on fourth, covering 101 KMs at Bengaluru in August 2018 and then come second covering 119.70 KMs in 12 hours in his second participation at Delhi in December last.

Shiva Hang expressed satisfaction with his preparation and practice and is expecting to improve on his performance this time.

“I have prepared hard for this competition and I will give my best to cover more distance to improve my performance,” he said.

In his preparation, he covered 95 KMs in 12 hours on the hilly trails of Yuksom and surrounding areas.

“Seeing his recent performances and preparation, I am very hopeful that my student, Shiva Hang, will cross 120 KMs to finish on top position this time,” Amar Subba said.

He expressed his gratitude towards the organisers, Nagraj Adiga and Sunil Shetty, for extending free entry to Shiva Hang in the competition.
