Bimla Pradhan enthralls at Kathmandu’s ‘Palethi’

Renowned artist from Sikkim, Bimla Pradhan, impressed all with her performance at a popular musical platform, Palethi in Kathmandu, over the weekend.

She performed with her guru, popular and respected Nepali artist, Shanti Thatal, on 29 and 30 June.

Maha Kavi Lakshmi Prasad Devkota’s immortal Poetic work, ‘Muna Madan’, composed by Shanti Thatal was performed by Ms Pradhan .

‘Palethi’ is a prominent and prestigious platform for established and signature marked artists to preserve and keep alive their creations through live performances. The event is held on the last Fridays of every month followed by performances on Saturday and Sunday at “r-sala” in Kathmandu.

This was the first time that a singer from Sikkim performed in Palethi.

At the last Palethi held from 31 May to 02 June, Ms Pradhan had performed Shanti Thatal’s classic compositions as well super hit numbers from the film, Banchna Chahane Haru [1980].

She performed songs like, Naya Naya Gham ko Kiran , Mitho Mitho Timro Saath Mitho and other from this film.

After the success of the last Palethi, the organizers, Nepalaya, booked Shanti Thatal Guruma and Bimla Pradhan this Palethi held from 28 to 30 June.

Ms Pradhan is attached with Shanti Thatal in a Guru-Shishya Parampra since 1979.
