Gangtok, 09 Jul:
The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd organized a daylong blood donation camp to mark its fifth inception day of NHIDCL here at Titanic Park today.
The camp received more than 100 prospective donors and a total of 60 units of blood were collected today.
Speaking to Summit Times, NHIDCL Gangtok branch office Manager, Jayashree Sahoo, informed that plantation drives at the site office and branches and other activities will also be carried out to mark the occasion.
She informed that the company also plans to provide haemoglobin strips and other equipment to STNM hospital.
“The event is a healthy initiative in an effort to save lives,” said Jayshree Sahu.
It is informed that NHIDCL Gangtok branch office had conducted a blood donation camp last year as well to mark its anniversary and has collected 74 units of blood at the time.
