Road condition plays spoilsport in U-17 League

GANGTOK, 12 Jul:

Continuing its winning streak, State Sports Academy secured three more points from another win in the ongoing Sikkim Football Association U-17 Football League 2019 here at Paljor Stadium on Friday. State Sports Academy outplayed Melli Football Club 3-0. John Tshering Lepcha scored a brace and his teammate Milan Chettri contributed a goal in SSA’s victory.

The second match of the day between Namthang Football Academy and Howler’s Football Club, SIngtamwas postponed as both teams could not reach Gangtok due to blockage of the national highway by landslides.

Mr Bishal from Red FM was present as the chief guest while RJ Prabal of Red FM was the guest of honour, who handed over four garden umbrellas to Sikkim Football Association. SFA thanked Red FM team for donating four garden umbrellas for League Organising committee members, referees, medical teams, ball boys and stretcher bearers.

On Saturday, Dzongu Football Club will take on Gangtok Football Club at noon, which will be followed by another match between Chujachen Football Academy and New Light Academy, Namchi.
