Susmita Lama emerges champion of Smart Girls FIDE Rating Chess Tournament

Susmita Lama of Sikkim emerged the champion of the Smart Girls FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2019 held here at 5th Mile Tadong. Priya Chettri, also from Sikkim, came second while Vaani Agarwal from West Bengal secured the third position.
The five-day tournament was organised by Sikkim Chess Association for the first time not only for Sikkim by the entire north-east region. The tournament was participated in by 64 chess players from different parts of Sikkim and a few from West Bengal.
Pushpa Gurung finished the tournament on the fourth position, Emetha Limboo on fifth, Amisha Kumari on sixth, Anusha Chettri seventh, Nameirakpam Bewan Devi eighth, Jenisha Gurung ninth and Shriya Agarwal on tenth position.
In U-07 Girls, Manasvi Acharya bagged the first position with Atisha Chettri on second position and Weshar Chedup Bhutia on third position.
In U-09 Girls, Chewangmit Lepcha emerged the champion, while Yashita Sharma and Dinikshi Subedi stood on second and third positions respectively.
Yangchen Lama came first followed by leaving Priya Kumari on second and Smruti Sneha Sahu on third position in U-11 Girls.
In U-13 Girls, Shraddha Sharma bagged the first prize while Rozila Pradhan and Bidhya Rai stood on the second and third positions respectively.
The valedictory function of the tournament was held here on Sunday afternoon.
Upper Tadong in-charge of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, Anand Lama, was present as chief guest today.
