Sikkim gets new DGP

Gangtok, 12 Aug:

Sikkim cadre IPS officer, A Shankar Rao has been appointed as the new Director General of Police by the State Government replacing SD Negi.

Mr Negi has been transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary of the Labour Department, Government of Sikkim.

A Shankar Rao who was posted in New Delhi as Officer on Special Duty in the State Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, will continue to hold the post of OSD and has been given additional charge as DGP.

SD Negi took up the charge of DGP in 2017 replacing Avinash Mohananey who retired from service.

Another office order reads that Secretary, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary Service Department, SB Subba, who is also holding additional charge of Labour Department shall relinquish the charge of Labour Department.
