Along with the rest of the states, nine women from Sikkim have been listed for effort and outreach towards society and individuals under the Poshan Abhiyan.
Geeta Das (ANM), Dayawanti Pradhan (Aganwadi Associate), Laxmi Pradhan (ASHA worker), Shanti Devi Mukhia (Aganwadi worker) and Apsara Devi Sharma (supervisor), Chuning Lepcha (Aganwadi worker), Nima Lamu Lepcha (Aganwadi Associate), Tsheten Doma Lepcha (ASHA workers) and Tara Basnett (ANM) from Sikkim were amongst those who were awarded for their contributions and deliverance.
The awards were conferred under the Poshan Abhiyan 2018–19 regarding Field Leadership and Convergence Award (State level) in New Delhi.
"This is a proud moment for us and we would like to share this happiness and success with all and wish to see others receive such awards in the coming days," shared Geeta Das, an ANM, while speaking to SummitTimes on behalf of the awardees.
The awardees was felicitated with a letter of appreciation along with medals and a cash component of Rs 2,50,000 which was handed by the Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani, at an event held on 23 Aug in New Delhi.
