Gangtok, 11 Sept:
Chief Minister, PS Tamang [Golay], today announced the renaming of Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission [CMRHM] to Sikkim Garib Awaas Yojana for which a total amount of Rs. 451 crore has been earmarked, as per an IPR press release. In addition to this, he also declared that an amount of Rs. 16 crore has been allocated by the state government for house upgradation under this scheme.
He made the announcement during the Self Help Group (SHG) Convention for South and West Districts held at Jorethang Play Ground today.
Mr Tamang also announced the introduction of Health Insurance for State Government employees.
To empower women, he announced the transfer of Rs. 5 lakh to the bank account of the female head of each family within the duration of five years.
The CM announced the absorption of employees currently employed under North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP) under North East Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Similarly, the Chief Minister also announced the annual duration of renewal of licenses and registration for NGOs from existing one year to five years for the general convenience of the public.
