Bada Bungalow at Temi Tea Estate developed for tourism

Temi, 11 Sept (IPR): The Temi Bungalow, developed by Eco Adventure Resorts, was inaugurated at Temi Tea Estate today.

Present amongst others were Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, Thomas Chandy, Managing Director (MD) Temi Tea, Mrinalini Srivastava, MD Priya Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Arjit Dutta and MD Eco Adventure Resort, Uttam Chaudhari local gentry, Tashi Tshering Bhutia alongwith local business operators.

Addressing the gathering, Additional Chief Secretary Mr Chandy spoke about the significance of Temi Tea Estate and how this organic estate has earned laurels for Sikkim.

He added that this estate is known for producing premium organic tea leaves which he emphasized should be maintained.

Mr Chandy said that tea tourism should be encouraged as well in the rural areas and that resorts located in Temi Tea Estate should be highlighted as it will provide a wider platform for local businesses to flourish.

He also emphasized that the resort should provide employment to locals of the area.

Mr Chandy shared that the tea estate was filled with rich heritage which should be preserved as it was an important asset of the State Government.

He also read out the message of Tourism Minister, BS Pant.

The resort consists of 5 rooms, 7 cottages and a view desk.

The Temi Bungalow was earlier called “Bada Bungalow” and has now been converted into Eco Adventure Hub and marks the first such public-private partnership initiative. Priya Entertainments Pvt Ltd is partnering this initiative with Temi Tea.
