CM calls on Sangter Tulku Rinpoche; Interacts with officials and public at Rabong
Ravangla, 18 Sept (IPR): Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang [Golay] along with his spouse, Krishna Kumari Rai, called on Sangter Tulku Rinpoche at Karma Thekchenling Monastery in Ravangla today.
During the short interaction between them, Sangter Rinpoche informed the Chief Minister about the dental service which he has started and also about the school up to standard V. This modern education facility includes creative aspects such as handicrafts, painting and many more.
Sangter Rinpoche also added that soon dialysis and acupuncture will also be provided in the healthcare services extended by his organisation.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister expressed hoped that Buddhism and pilgrimage tourism will flourish in the area as Ravangla has great potential for it.
Sangter Rinpoche and the Chief Minister also discussed various aspects of the monastery to which the CM assured full help and co-operation from the Government's side.
Confidential Secretary to the CM, Bikash Basnet, and members of monastery committee were also present for the meeting.
The Chief Minister then conducted a brief meeting with employees of Ravangla sub-division at the meeting hall of Tathagata Tsal and explained in detail the roles and responsibilities expected of government employees towards the upliftment of the public on a day to day basis.
He emphasized that the government officials have to work in tandem with panchayats and general public while also efficiently implementing the various schemes and policies of the State Government.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the Government is responsive towards the various suggestions and feedback brought forward by the employees and stressed that till date the State Government has worked with remarkable alacrity to elevate the working condition of government employees along with that of the general public.
During the course of the meeting, the Chief Minister also interacted with SDPO (Ravangla), ADC (Dev) Ravangla, SDM (Ravangla, Yangang), BDOs of Ravangla, Sikkip, Temi Tarku, Yangang and various other employees from Ravangla sub-division.
After hearing them out, the CM said that the Government is in the process of constituting a Police Station at Yangang, expediting the road construction process particularly relating to localities connecting this sub-division.
He also enquired after drinking water facilities and the current status of Sikkim University which is coming up at Yangang and many more pertinent matters.
Moreover, he assured that delayed works at Ravangla and the surrounding areas will be looked into on priority basis.
Thereafter, the Chief Minister also met with the public of the surroundings locality.
