Sikkim gets Best Performing State Award for TB Control

New Delhi, 25 Sept (IPR): Sikkim has been selected for the prestigious Best Performing State Award in implementing the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme.

The award was conferred by Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Harsh Vardhan at the launch of the “Accelerator to National Strategic Plan - TB Haarega Desh Jeetega Campaign” of the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, New Delhi on 25 Sept, 2019.

The award, consisting of a trophy and a certificate, was received by OSD, Resident Commissioner’s office, Sikkim House on behalf of the Health Department, Government of Sikkim. The same was presented to the Chief Minister upon his arrival at Sikkim House today.

Five other states/UTs, namely Daman & Diu, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, Sikkim and Tripura also received the award in various other categories.
