Give a national party the chance to work for you, BJP’s YT Lepcha appeals

Gangtok, 13 Oct:

Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Gangtok, YT Lepcha, today assured that he was committed to work for the overall development of Gangtok and will work to make it a model constituency.

He, accompanied by leaders and party workers of the BJP and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, is keeping busy campaigning door-to-door in the constituency.

Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Mr Lepcha insisted that the by-poll was not for so much for the seat as to give “justice” to the people of Gangtok constituency.

“We have been going to the people with the commitment of BJP of ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikash, Hune Chaina Kasailai Pani Pakshapath’ and working day and night on this slogan,” he said. He stated that BJP and SKM leaders and workers have been working together for the people of Gangtok.

“We have noted down all issues and problems faced by the people of Gangtok and shared with us during our door-to-door campaign and after winning the election we will work on these issues on priority basis to secure the future of the coming generation,” Mr Lepcha said.

He mentioned that the people of the capital were still lacking basic facilities and assured to work on the traffic congestion and the problem of drinking water supply and irregular power supply. On the same, he said when the Centre and the State would work together then these issues can be addressed effectively.

He assured to work on every issue of the constituency as a sincere “Chowkidar,” the moniker used by the BJP during the last elections.

He added that the election was not to form the government since the State and the Centre already had governments, but to establish an alliance so the State receives more development when both governments work together and fulfill all the hopes and aspirations of the people.

He called on the voters here to see the work of a national party in the constituency.

“The Centre is ready to provide all assistance to Sikkim and the State government is also ready to take this assistance to the people and when these two governments would work together then there is nothing impossible for Sikkim,” Mr Lepcha said.
