GANGTOK, 21 Nov: The two-day long state-level workshop on Challenges and Opportunities in National Service Scheme [NSS] concluded here on Thursday.
The valedictory function today had the Secretary, Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Kuber Bhandari ,as the chief guest.
In his address, Mr Bhandari congratulated the programme officers and coordinators for working actively for the society and the people through NSS activities in their respective institutions.
He commended that the workshop had provided a wonderful opportunity to NSS programme officers and coordinators to present their activities and services delivered through their volunteers. The Secretary advised the participants to prepare an action plan for the entire year without hampering academic sessions at their respective institutions.
The workshop was organized by the Sikkim State NSS Cell in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs, Guwahati, and was attended by 100 programme officers and programme coordinators from different schools, colleges and universities.
The NSS Regional Director, Guwahati, Deepak Kumar, took various sessions related to NSS activities and engaged in an interaction session. He expressed happiness with the performance of NSS Sikkim and congratulated all involved.
Sports & Youth Affairs Additional Director [NSS], Doma Tshering Bhutia, thanked the Minister, KN Lepcha, Secretary, Kuber Bhandari and NSS Regional Director for their constant support and guidance to NSS activities in the State.
