FPAS hands over Rs 4 lakh to Reeya’s parents
Gangtok, 24 Nov:
Football Players Association of Sikkim [FPAS] handed over a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to Reeya Lepcha’s parents at their residence in Dentam, West Sikkim, on Sunday.
The amount was raised by FPAS members through a fund-raising drive at Gangtok and other parts of the State.
The FPAS team was led by its president, Nirmal Chettri, accompanied by Nim Tshering Lepcha, Ashish Chettri, Jasman Gurung, Kunzang Lepcha and Lokendra Gurung.
They interacted with Reeya’s parents and FPAS and the parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards all those who contributed to the fund-raising.
15-year-old Reeya is a promising footballer who has been diagnosed with brain tumour. Her parents had appealed for financial support as they are unable to meet the expensive medical treatment. They will be flying to Delhi on Monday for Reeya’s treatment.
