Easter Himalaya represented at IMD workshop in Almora

Gangtok, 12 Dec:

International Mountain Day was observed at GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development, at Kosi Katarmal, Almora on 11 Dec with around 300 scientists, researchers, policy makers and farmers from all over India and Nepal in attendance.

To celebrate this day, the GBPNIHESD, Almora in collaboration with the MoEF&CC, NMSHE, Bird, CHEA, ICIMOD (Nepal), WWF, BSI, ZSI, ICAR, Tata trust, UNDP, IUCN and WII organized a three-day workshop on “Himalaya Matters in a Changing World” from 09–11 Dec, 2019.

A team consisting of nine scientists and professionals and three students participated in this event from the Khangchendzonga Landscape India.

Ujjal Ghosh, CCF Wildlife North West Bengal, Dr DP Pradhan, Addl Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Prof Deepak Jhajharia, CAEPHT, Dr Sunita Pradhan, ATREE, Dr MS Foning, DISHA-Kalimpong, Dr Rajesh Joshi, Dr D Kumar, GBPNIHESD, Dr Kailash S Gaira, Dr DK Agarawala represented Khangchendzonga Landscape India at the workshop.
