Amba School Library upgraded by Wandering Souls of Sikkim

Gangtok, 22 Dec:

Zilla Adhakshya [East], Samsher Bakhim, inaugurated the upgraded school library of Amba Secondary School on 20 December, a press release informs.

The school library was upgraded by Wandering Souls of Sikkim as part of its Library Initiative through which WSOS has upgraded four rural school libraries in a span of one year thus far.

Around 1,200 books and three bookshelves were added to the school library as part of this upgradation with the help of contributors who contributed cash, books and bookshelves to upgrade the library and transform it into a rich repository of knowledge for the students studying in the school, the release adds.

The release adds that the latest initiative was in support of the Chief Minister’s adoption of Amba for development as a model GPU.

Amba School headmaster Mahendra Poudyal thanked WSOS for its initiative and called upon the students to take maximum advantage of the books now available to them.

The Zilla Adhakshya also applauded the initiative and expressed happiness on being able to be part of the event.

WSOS has thanked all who contributed towards the initiative.
