Member of Parliament,LokSabha, Indra Hang Subba was the chief guest,on the fifth day of Rainbow Trout Festival at Sribadam, West Sikkim, a press release informs.
The programme was organized by Sribadam Rainbow Trout Festival organizing committee in collaboration with Trout rearing Co-operative Society Ltd.
The programme includedZiplining, Burma Bridge, Volleyball, Traditional Food and Drinks and Paragliding&Ride for unexplored routes in West Sikkim with Royal Enfield was also demonstrated by BOW Namchi, DMC & Kanchanjunga Motor Cycle Club.
Speaking on the occasion,Mr Subba said that Sribadam has made exemplary progress in trout farming as compared to other places.Further, he shed light on the concept of tourism and explained how this initiative would bring about visible transformation in the economy of a village.
The MP added that the Department is also devising means to facilitate marketing of the farmers’ produce.
In the second semi-final of the Volleyball tournament played between Randon Club, Buksom and Samdong GVK, the former team won to enter the finals.
