Sikkim is set to host Global Cinema Festival 2020 tentatively from 28 Feb to 01 March in Gangtok, a press release informs.
As a run up to the same, representatives of Sikkim Festival Team attended the 16th MIFF-2020 (Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short Fiction and Animation films) on Tuesday atNehru Centre Auditorium, Worli, Mumbai.
On behalf of the State, IPR Secretary, Namrata Thapa, attended the Festival. The Sikkim Film Cooperative Society was represented by its honorary member Dr Rahul Banerjee and Firdausul Hasan who also is the president of the Film Federation of India.
The IPR Secretary invited various leaders, film directors and producers to visit Sikkim during and after the Global Cinema Festival, the release mentions.
Culture Minister, Maharashtra, Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh is likely to attend the Global Cinema Festival in Sikkim.
Further, it is informed that Sikkim is launching its first creative studio compatible with 2D and 3D animation in February 2020.
