National Defence College delegation meets Chief Secretary

A 15-member delegation comprising of Course Members of National Defence College, New Delhi called on Chief Secretary of Sikkim, SC Gupta, at Tashiling Secretariat in the capital today wherein the CS accorded a warm welcome to the team and briefed them about the socio political aspects of Sikkim.
The delegation from National Defence College, New Delhi comprising of Faculty-in-charge, Neeta Bhushan, Tour Coordinator, AmarendraParida, Brigadier,VikasRohella, SM, DrArvind, AFHQ-CS, Air Commodore, S Jacob, Brig VK Gudi, Brig LCR Jayasuriya RSP psc (Sri Lankan Army), Brig Deepak Singh Bisht, SM, Brig Irvinder Singh Gill, Brig Mohit Seth, VSM, Captain Ian Herbert Lynn (UK Navy), Air Cmde PS Wadodkar, CmdeAditya Hara, Captain Ali Al Hosni (Oman Navy), and Brig SP Vishwasrao, SM are in the State from 02–07 Feb as a part of their Socio Political Study Tour.
A meeting was also convened in the conference hall of Tashiling Secretariat under the chairmanship of the CS which was attended by the National Defence College delegates along with representatives and dignitaries of various departments of the State government.
During the meeting, presentations were made by various departments namely Forest, Tourism, Education, Police, Agriculture/Horticulture, Planning & Development, Rural Development and Commerce & Industries.
The State government representatives gave a brief overview of the policies and schemes implemented by their concerned departments for the development of the State while also underlining various achievements and accolades earned by the State at national level.
The presentation session was followed by brainstorming interaction between the visiting team and the State government representatives wherein queries raised by the guests were promptly tended to by the concerned officials.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Brig SP Vishwasrao, SM, wherein he commended Sikkim's achievements and lauded the efforts of the State government towards the progress and prosperity of its citizens. He further extended gratitude to the Chief Secretary and his team for hosting the delegate and hoped for further interactions in the coming days to discuss future prospects for the development of the State and the country.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of mementos to the Chief Secretary, the Additional Chief Secretary (Education) and the Principal Secretary cum PCCF (Forest) by the National Defence College delegation.
