CM writes to counterparts calling for collaborations against nCoV and support for stranded people

Gangtok, 29 Mar:

Chief Minister PS Tamang [Golay] wrote to his counterparts all over the country calling for a joint effort to fight COVID-19.

In his letter, Mr Tamang said that Sikkim has joined hands with the nation and was adopting every necessary measure to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus ensuring the safety of not only its own people but also citizens across the country and was extending relief as the situation demanded.

Mr Tamang also mentions in his letter that a large number of students, workers, pilgrims and professionals from Sikkim were currently in other parts of the country and could be facing difficulties, for which Sikkim looked upon the respective state governments to extend support.

He adds that CMs of other states can rest assured that if any of their people were similarly stranded in Sikkim, they will be provided all necessary support and guidance in this hour of need. He has also invited them to contact his Secretary, SD Dhakal, for any such assistance.

He concludes his letter with the hope that a joint effort will overcome the virus and the disease it afflicts people with.
