2,753 under quarantine in East Sikkim

A total of 2,753 are under quarantine in East District, a status report on persons under surveillance for COVID-19 in the district informs.
This list, released by the East District Collectorate this morning details that 2,238 people are under self quarantine, having returned from outside the State but not COVID-affected areas.
450 people are under self-quarantine since they returned from areas which have reported COVID-19 cases while 65 - 10 at the Rangpo Tourist Guest House and 55 students at SICUN - are under facility quarantine.
Six people continue to be admitted at the triage facility and no one has been put under isolation.
Meanwhile, the 8th and 9th floors of STNM Hospital have been designated isolation wards for COVID-19 patients.
Thankfully, the need to put the isolation ward has not arisen yet with no one in Sikkim having yet tested positive for Novel Coronavirus.
