Members of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Sikkim, accompanied by Pemba Lepcha, general secretary of the EPCS Council, Agriculture Minister LN Sharma, and MLA GT Dhungel, called on Chief Minister PS Tamang [Golay] at his residence today and extended support on behalf of the entire EPCS congregation in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, an EPCS press release informs.
At the meeting, Mr Lepcha apprised the Chief Minister that all Sikkim EPCS churches were fervently praying for him and his team in their initiatives to keep Sikkim safe from the virus.
The CM thanked the congregation for the support of Rs 1.50 lakh donation and requested for prayers so that the pandemic does not cause any harm to the citizens of Sikkim and the nation.
The CM also requested the religious leaders to provide support to the Government and asked the citizens to stay inside their houses and help the administration.
