Temi Tea Estate has refuted reports that the tea estate was continuing operations without adequate safety measures in place as “totally false and misleading,”
Managing Director, Mrinalini Shrivastava, in a press release issued today, explains that Temi Tea Estate was exempted from lockdown and was following all guidelines issue d by the Government.
The Tea Estate, she stresses, has taken care of its workers, sensitised them and taken all necessary precautionary measures in consultation with the Health Department including distribution of masks, sanitizers and social distancing measures.
Reports suggesting otherwise are based on “hearsay” and not facts or proper verification with concerned authorities.
The MD has appealed to all workers and the people of Sikkim not to pay any heed to rumors and false news.
“Temi Tea Estate will take legal and appropriate actions for defaming, creating disharmony, apprehensions and fear amongst the workers, people and its customers at large,” the release warns, adding that “safety of each and every worker, employees of the Temi Tea Estate is our priority during its operation and plucking of tea leaves.”
