DYFI plants trees on road too poor for vehicles
Darjeeling, 05 Jul:
The Democratic Youth Federation of India [DYFI] carried out a plantation drive in the middle of the road at Rohini (Kothidara) today.
“The road leading to the old age home and the one to Rohini Lake through Rohini's Kothidara is at its worst and will be severely damaged at any time, but the GTA has not take any initiative till now. Hence, today to draw their attention, we planted trees in middle of the road and tomorrow, on 06 Jul, we will go to the concerned department and submit a demand letter,” DYFI-Darjeeling president, Sachin Khati, explained.
DYFI is convinced that GTA was developing only areas which it wished to and was not bothered about the problems being faced by the people.
DYFI has threatened to launch a stronger protest if GTA continues to ignore the matter.
