GNLF calls out quarantine relaxations enjoyed by leaders
Darjeeling, 05 Jul:
President of GNLF’s Jaanchetna Sangharsha Samity, Manjila Tamang, today alleged that there were two types of rules in the Darjeeling hills - leaders can do whatever they want but the people have to follow the rules made by the government, she alleged.
But the time will come when the people will quarantine such leaders forever, she contended further.
She pointed out that where some leaders have been travelling unhindered and even taking flights and continuing with life as usual, the lay people are being forced to stay in 21-day quarantines upon returning.
Meanwhile, GNLF continued its relief work in the hills and today distributed food items to staff of hotels in Darjeeling. The distribution was overseen by GNLF-Darjeeling’s chairperson, Ajay Edwards, spokesperson Prabhaskar Blon, chairperson of GNLF’s Darjeeling town committee, Robert Chhetri and in-charge of GNLF media cell, Dinesh Sampang.
