Namchi, 11 Aug (IPR):
The first preparatory meeting with regard to South District Celebration of Independence Day 2020 was held at District Administrative Centre, Namchi, today.
The meeting was chaired by DC(South), Raghul K and had the presence of ADC(South), Satyen Kr Pradhan, SP (South), Thakur Thapa, ASP (South), J Jayapandiyan alongwith other heads of various line departments of the District.
In view of the corona virus pandemic, the District Administration shall organize this year's Independence Day in a low-key manner at its DAC's complex to avoid large congregation in the ceremony. The Administration will be following the sets of guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the celebration of Independence Day.
The meeting had the overview of roles and arrangements of the respective departments for the celebration. It also discussed on the planning of rehearsal for the ceremony which is to be held on 13 and 14 August.
The administration will also felicitate the COVID-19 warriors of police, health and sanitising teams for their active roles in the pandemic hours during the ceremony.
Addressing the meeting, DC (South), Raghul K urged the officials to work in coordination with the line departments to ensure to avoid setback in the celebration.
