Five students from four schools of Sikkim along with other students from Manipur participated in National Webinar organised by International Chamber for Service Industry (ICSI) New Delhi on Wednesday. The programme was organised on the occasion of World Youth Day with the theme of water conservation and hosted by DG-ICSI, Dr Gulshan Sharma. The Chief Guest for the session was MoS, Rattan Lal Kataria, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Development of Water Resources, Rural Development and Ganga Rejuvenation along with Environmentalist and Social Activist and Founder of Sparsh Ganga, Arushi Nishank Pant.
The webinar was held through cloud meeting app zoom where the students talked on the basic tenets of water conservation and also presented their ideas on how to conserve water in their daily activities. The meeting discussed the role of youth in water conservation. The students representing Sikkim were Astha Rai and Sneha Rai of Class X from Lingi Payong SS, Kuensel Dolma Bhutia (EMRS Gangyap), Kusangmoo Lepcha (NPS Namchi) and Inuhangma Subba (Namchi SSS). Founded in 2005, ICSI (International Chamber for Service Industry) was formed to represent the interests of a network of Service Industry stakeholders, to innovate different solutions in order to foster a dynamic service and business environment.
