56 new cases, 75 recoveries and Sikkim now has 388 active COVID cases from 1,542 detected so far

Sikkim recorded 56 new cases of COVID-19 as of 8am Thursday. There are now 388 active cases while the number of cases recorded so far in the state has reached 1,542. Meanwhile, 75 more people were discharged from isolation facilities after making full recoveries. Most of the cases are still asymptomatic in Sikkim or mildly symptomatic and there is currently no COVID-19 patient in ICU.
Out of 506 samples screened through RT-PCR, 52 tested positive. Among these are one from Arithang [below Chooksing area], a Lall Bazaar medicine shop worker, a cop posted at STNM Hospital and residing near Sera Gumpa, Chanmari, a person from 6th Mile, near Holy Cross School [a contact of Macleods Pharma patient]; one from Luing near the Panchayat office, a person from Setipool below Gangtok; five contacts of the Health Minister; three from Ranipool Shanti complex; four from Ranipool bazaar area; a police personnel posted at Ranipool police station; one from Samlik Marchak; one from near 7th Mile gas godown area; one from Namin Rumtek; one from Rey Khola road; Nine patients at Singtam District Hospital; two from Zuventus Pharma; one from Sun Pharma; six from Saramsa Aho Yangtam [contacts of Macleods case]; seven ITBP personnel stationed at Rey; five from South Sikkim [one from Jorethang transit camp, one senior police officer stationed at Namchi and three from Aadarsh Gaon].
Meanwhile, Out of 28 samples, four tested positive via TrueNat – one from Tathangchen below Modern Sr Sec School who was working at the Rural Marketing Centre, SRDA, Kanchenjunga Shopping Complex, three ITBP personnel at Rey. With these, the number of ITBP personnel testing positive today climbs o 10.
No one from the 135 samples screened via Rapid Antigen Testing tested positive today.
Officials also inform that the 27-year-old who had tested positive and could not be traced yesterday, has been traced and placed in isolation facility.
