Chisopani FC cleans up Berbotay Primary School

GANGTOK, 31 Aug:

Chisopani Football Club carried out a cleanliness drive at Government Primary School, Berbotay in South Sikkim on Monday. It is informed that that the club has decided to carry out cleanliness drive, plantation drive, voluntary blood donation and other social activities once a month apart from its sporting activities.

The club was established in the year 2010 with a vision to promote and provide exposure for youth especially in the field of football.

A press release of the club mentions that the club has decided to take up cleanliness drive of the school premises this month as the school would be opening soon only for teachers in the month of September. Berbotay Primary School Headmistress, Rekha Subba has thanked the CFC family for their initiative to make the school premises neat and clean, the release adds.

President Dik Bahadur Chettri and advisor, Tshering Bhutia of CFC has thanked the Chief Minister PS Tamang for his announcement to increase sports quota from 2% to 5% in government jobs and expressed that such initiative of the government would motivate upcoming young sportspersons.

The release adds that the announcement of the CM to provide financial support to registered clubs would help to provide better exposure and training to local sportspersons and to bring out talented sportspersons from all corners of the State.

The club has been facing difficulties in sending local players outside the state for selection trials as well as for exposure due to financial constraints so help from the government would make it possible for talents of the State to reach higher, the release mentions.
