With three more deaths, Sikkim’s COVID death-tally reaches 16

Gangtok, 13 Sept:

Three more novel coronavirus -related deaths were recorded in the State on Sunday, taking the COVID-19 death toll in Sikkim to 16.

A 61-year-old female from Shantingar, Singtam, a 68-year-old male from Bojoghari, Gangtok and a 42-year-old female from Development Area, Gangtok, passed away today. All of them had tested positive for COVID-19 and had co-morbidities.

In the daily health bulletin on Sunday, Health Department State IEC Officer, Sonam G Bhutia informed that the 61-year-old female from Shanti Nagar passed away early this morning at 2:50 AM in the CICU of STNM Hospital. She had a respiratory issue and liver problems.

The 68-year-old male from Bojoghari, who was admitted in STNM hospital on 06 September, passed away this morning at around 9 AM in the ICU at STNM hospital. He added the patient was a dialysis patient.

The 42-year-old female from Development Area, Gangtok, who was also a dialysis patient, passed away at 4:30 PM this evening, he informed.
