Three Sikkimese teenagers to represent India in the “World Climate Summit 2020”

Three Sikkimese teenagers: Rishal Pandey Chettri, Rushali Golay and Ashwatth Tamang to represent India in the “World Climate Summit 2020” organised by Eco-Network as their organisation -"Wakeup Movement" gets selected as Global Partners of "World Climate Summit 2020" . The trio will have an opportunity to meet globally-recognized climate activists from various countries. The summit will see international delegates participating from 15 different countries like- South Korea, USA, India, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, China, Nepal, Ghana, Bhutan, Kenya, Philippines , Nigeria and many other countries. The trio will be talking about various issues pertaining to Sikkim with a paramount focus on River Teesta and its present scenario. Wakeup Movement is a social youth organisation based in Sikkim that raises awareness on various Climate Change concomitant issues. They have organised foot rallies, competition for school students, awareness rallies both through offline and online modes. Rishal Pandey Chettri is the founder of the organisation and is currently studying in DPS, Siliguri. Rushali Golay completed her 12th this year from Holy Cross Tadong and Ashwatth is a student of TNA. “World Climate Summit 2020” is scheduled on 25 and 26 Sept, 2020 and due to restrictions on intentional movement, it will be held online.
