SAATHI organized life skills training for fourth batch of students through digital platform
Gangtok, 19 Sept:
Three days training on life skills was organized by SAATHI through digital platform where, students from seven schools of Sikkim had participated. The training was started from 17 to 19 Sept, 2020. Participating schools were, Mangshila Sr Sec School, Kalzang Gyatso Sr Sec School (Kabi), Kewzing Sr Sec School (Sreebadam), Dentam Sr Sec School, Kitam Sr Sec School, Enchey Sr Sec School and Middle Geyzing Sec School.
The objective of this camp was to provide knowledge among students about various life skills which we require in everyday basis. By learning life skills, it will help children to understand world around us and equip them with the tools that they need to live a more productive and fulfilling life, find ways to cope or overcome with the challenges of life.
The sessions covered were career guidance by Associate Professor, Dr Satyadeep S Chhetri, NB Bhandari Govt Degree College and Interpersonal Relationship & Teamwork by Research Scholar & Counselling Psychologist, Roshni Chhetri. Coping with emotion and stress by Counselling Psychologist, Pragyan Dewan and Communication Skills & Time Management by Professor, HoD (Dept of Social Science) SCERT, Manorath Dahal. Awareness & usage of social media by Advocate, Pragya Parameeta, Co-founder of Accelerator & Eastern Himalayan News Services and Coordinator, Prashant Sharma, Sikkim Drug Users Forum had shared his life experience with the students.
The training ended with feedback session and this kind of training is quite challenging due to connectivity issue but we could complete it with the help of our teachers, students and resource persons.
